I want to remove e SQLServer Beta2 from my machine, butI remove
DotFrameWork 2.0 beta first.
When I remove SQLServer 2005 Beta2, the system told me I must install
DotFrameWork 2.0 first.
How can I remove SQLServer 2005 Beta2 after I have removed DotFrameWork 2.0
beta?
Try if any of the following work, I tried this exactly and it worked.
3.6.1 Uninstalling SQL Server 2005 Beta 2
You can uninstall SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 by using Add or Remove Programs in
Control Panel or via the command prompt. The same procedures can be used to
uninstall SQL Server 2005 Technical Preview and SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 IDW4.
To uninstall SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 using Add or Remove Programs
1.. In Add or Remove Programs, remove Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Beta 2
components. Each SQL Server component will be listed individually, and must
be selected and removed in turn.
2.. In Add or Remove Programs, remove Microsoft SQL Server Setup Support
files (required only for IDW4).
3.. In Add or Remove Programs, remove Microsoft SQL Native Client.
4.. In Add or Remove Programs, remove Microsoft SQL Server .NET Framework
2.0.
Note Removing .NET Framework 1.2 or 2.0 will affect existing Visual
Studio installations, as Visual Studio depends on it. If you have Visual
Studio installed, do not uninstall the .NET Framework.
To uninstall SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 via the command prompt
1.. Insert the SQL Server 2005 Beta 2 CD into the CD drive.
2.. To remove all SQL Server 2005 components, from the command prompt,
type
Start /wait <CD Drive>\setup.exe /qb REMOVE=ALL
INSTANCENAME=<InstanceName>For the default instance, specify "MSSQLSERVER"
for InstanceName.
Note Specifying REMOVE=ALL to remove the instance components also removes
all shared components (SQL Server tools, Data Transformation Services, and
Notification Services).
3.. To remove Microsoft SQL Native Client, type
Start /wait msiexec /qb /X <CD Drive>\Setup\sqlncli.msi4.. To remove
Microsoft .NET Framework, type
Start /wait <CD Drive>\redist\2.0\dotnetfx.exe /q:a /c:"install /qu"
Note Removing .NET Framework 1.2 or 2.0 will affect existing Visual
Studio installations, as Visual Studio depends on the .NET Framework. If you
have Visual Studio installed, do not uninstall the .NET Framework.

What do you mean by "can't load"? What are you trying to do and which

What I mean is I get the error below when I try to attach the database
files (.mdf) which were created in the Beta version
Database 'Report' cannot be upgraded because its non-release version
(587) is not supported by this version of SQL Server. You cannot open
a database that is incompatible with this version of sqlservr.exe. You
must re-create the database.
Could not open new database 'Report'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted.
(Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 950)|||I have the same problem. Is there a way to get the beta2 mdf's loaded
into the RTM version?

Can't install SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition Server Tools Beta 1
I'm working with VS.NET 2005 Beta2 and SQL Server 2005 April CTP. My
SQL Server 2005 installation was more or less full, that is, I
installed everything related to Client Connectivity. I was bound to
build a merge replication scenario when I've noticed I needed "SQL
Server 2005 Mobile Edition Server Tools Beta 1".
Download the installer and execute it, obtaining the following error:
"You must first install the Replication Components for SQL Server 2000
SP 3a or higher or the SQL Server 2005 Client Connectivity Components."
What is the problem here if I have installed all Client components?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Instead of downloading "SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition Server Tools
Beta 1" from Microsoft, which still warns me that I cannot replicate
with SQL Server 2005 because I don't have Client Connectivity
Components installed, I finally read this on MSDN2:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms171908
The setup file is "sqlce30setupen.msi", located at "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE". This
setup process went ok and did not warn me about anything.
Hope it helps people having the same problem.
PS: How does MS redirect developers to download Server Tools Beta 1 in
order to setup replication and then setup fails or warns the user
wihout any logical reason. Incredible! Can anybody explain me this?
