can't start SQL Server Analysis Services

Hi I am using SQL 2005 but when I go to the SQL Server Configuration manager
and try to start the SQL Server Analysis Services, I get the error message
Requiest failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
In the event log it looks like there was a problem with login,
The SQL Server Analysis Services (MSSQLSERVER) service failed to start due
to the following error:
The service did not start due to a logon failure.
I currently have the logon as domain\username. Anyhow just wondering how to
fix this?

Software engineer.got it working, for some reason the password was not set correctly, so just
used the properties box to correct it.

Im having the symptoms described in:

But have tried the workaround to no avail. An important note would be that I
have Excel on Box1 and AS on Box2. When connecting to AS on Box1, this issue
doesnt occur.
Any other ideas?

Can't Register Server.

Hi : )

I have been trying to register 2 Servers in my Analysis Manager,
and have 2 different problems with them. One of them is my localhost.

When trying to connect my localhost I get this message:

Cannot connect to the repository
Analysis Server: CIN
Error[Microsoft][Administrador de controladores ODBC]El nombre del origen de datos es demasiado largo

Then, the Remote server I need to connect sends an error message like this:
Cannot connect to the repository.
Analysis Server: SVR
Error: No se pudo usar "; el archivo ya está en uso.

Hello. I think that you are talking about AS2000.

Are you a member of the OLAP-administrators group on your localhost machine and on the remote server?

In the second case I think that this AS2000 server already have another user that have connected to AS2000 with the cube manager/editor.

These are guesses!

I've verified my permissions on OLAP Administrators Group in both, my localhost and the server. The problem with my localhost happens just few days ago, I used to work fine on it but, suddenly start the error message. I have tried to unregister the server and register again but the problem persists : (

With the remote server what I have made is a trust relationship which is the way I get connected to the rest of the servers, but I do not understand the kind of error message. I have verified that no other uses have a session on it.

Make sure the application for the project type (.dwproj) is installed.

Did you install it some other folder than the one stated below ? Or did you not install the samples libarary ? Then you won′t find the information in this folder. You can install the samples from disks afterwards, juzst launch the explorer and use the custom installation type.

|||It's installed exactly where shown, but there are no instructions on how to install .dwproj|||ARe you installing SQL Server Express ? SQL Server Analysis Services isn′t shipped with Express so you should get the project files from another edition than express.

|||yes I'm using sql express the advanced edition which is supposed to support the adventureworks sample|||Express does not support Analysis Services, you are trying to open the analysis services sample for adventure works, try one of the others.
